The location was fantastic, with key attractions and amenities nearby. Plus, the hotel had a nice community atmosphere and was not a party hostel, which made it quiet and relaxing. The kitchen facilities were great for cooking meals, and the comfortable couches and beds made for a cozy stay. Lastly, the cute decorations added a nice touch to the overall ambiance.
The street noise in the morning, especially if staying in the dorm room. However, this was easily resolved by switching to a different room.

the staff and atmosphere at this hostel were amazing. the rooms were clean and quiet, and the location was perfect. the friendly staff gave great tips on what to do in Xela and made us feel welcome.
Only issue was the shower, could only get warm water at night.

We stayed in a generous-sized room off the lovely courtyard. the staff helped us organize transfers and trips to the hot springs. the well-equipped kitchen allowed us to cook most nights. the location was great with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby.
Felt more than at home, no complaints.

Not one thing.

My recent stay at a budget hostel in Xela was fantastic! What stood out the most was the laid-back atmosphere of the staff and the unbeatable prices for the rooms. We were pleasantly surprised by how clean and quiet the rooms were, and the added security of having a lock and key for our door made us feel safe and at ease. The location was also a major plus, just around the corner from central park and we never felt unsafe walking back even after dark. I highly recommend this hostel for budget travelers.
Although the atmosphere was mostly laid-back, there was more partying than we anticipated. Additionally, the bathrooms were not up to our standards of cleanliness.

Loved the cozy and welcoming atmosphere at this hotel. The staff and fellow guests were friendly and made me feel right at home. The well-equipped kitchen was a big plus for preparing meals. The location was convenient, with attractions and amenities within walking distance. The value for money was excellent as well.
The rooms could get quite cold at night, even with thick warm sheets. the lighting in the room was not sufficient for packing bags in the evening.

The Casa Seibel in Quetzaltenango was a charming and spacious hostel. The location was perfect, just a few blocks from the main square and market. The outdoor space was lovely and the hostel had a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The historic building added to the charm, and the manager, Jennie, was helpful and friendly. The rooms were roomy and well-maintained, with comfortable beds. The well-stocked kitchen, free drinking water, and additional amenities like snacks and wine for purchase were great additions.
Couldn't fault.

During my Christmas stay at this hotel, I absolutely loved the cozy and charming atmosphere. The old traditional house had so much character and added a unique touch to my experience. The staff members were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. They were super sweet and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure that I had a great stay. Additionally, the shared spaces in the hotel were well-organized and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the communal courtyard area, where I could hang out and relax with other guests.
One thing that I disliked during my stay was the lack of proper heating in the common areas. Given the cold evenings in the area, the patio layout of the hotel made it quite chilly.

I had the most amazing stay at a hostel in the heart of a bustling city. The location was perfect, just a stone's throw away from all the popular attractions and amenities. The hostel itself was absolutely fantastic, with clean and spacious rooms that had comfortable beds and plenty of hot water in the showers. The kitchen was well-equipped and allowed me to cook delicious meals. The staff, especially Jennie, were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the area and offered great recommendations for tours and hikes. my stay at this hostel was unforgettable and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting this city!
Although the shower water wasn't very hot, it was still warm enough for a comfortable experience. Additionally, the hostel could use more sinks and brighter lighting in the rooms.

The dorm room was perfect with no bunk beds and plenty of space. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were warm. If you are someone who craves a direct touch with nature, Casa Seibel is the perfect place for you. Located just a few blocks from the main square, this hostel offers a great location for exploring the restaurants, bars, and markets in the area. With spacious dorms and rooms, you'll have plenty of room for your backpack and belongings. The clean and cozy communal areas, such as the fully stocked kitchen, dining room, and home-style living room, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The ever-friendly staff, especially Jenny, will make you feel right at home.
The only downside is the lack of available laundry service, which would have been a nice addition to the overall experience.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
